Great interview with Domique Monami, former top 10 (video)

"Sometimes I think you have to be a bit wacko to play tennis because to hit the ball all the time like this...it's weird!"

She gives some really good insight into the tour, the death of her mom and her career here. Still looks great too!

It's indeed a great interview, thanks for posting

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

really nice interview

did not know that she lost her mom so early. Wow Henin and Wicmayer lost their moms early too, too early

Thanks for this. Glad to get an update. Always liked Van Roost (and Appelmans) and would make sure to catch their matches at Flushing Meadow.

Beautiful woman, beautiful game. And her daughter looks like the cutest little girl.

I still remember that win vs. Davenport and how the media was going crazy with her story.
