Would the WTA benefit by having the Tournament of Champions before the YEC?

As it is, there is little media and fan attention for the tournament of Champions as most people see the YEC as the season closer and stop paying attention after it.

(Add:)
The ToC is a nice touch and offers another 8 players a chance to finish their season well but to do that IMO it is better as part of the season rather than being an add-on after the main season closer.

Get rid of this fake tournament of champions or at least bring the real 8 highest ranked who won a WTA title and didn't qualify to YEC

WC on such events makes no sense

No, no way. We need to laugh and relax after the real thing, not before.

the YEC should definitely be the last tournament. it would also give the kremlin cup a chance to have a decent field. the only complication is what to do with the fed cup.

Yes, IMO the YEC should be (as the name suggests) the last tournament of the year!!

It makes no sense the way it is at the moment.

It makes sense from a "sense" point of view.

However I guess the players who are earning big $$$ would rather finish 1 week early.

I think Fed Cup final should be held the week after the US Open.

First round - the week after AO.
Semifinals - the week after Wimbledon.

Inspiration is for amateurs

Have the Fed Cup afterwards

The end of the season should be this:

Luxembourg, Moscow
ToC
YEC
Fed Cup

Samantha Stosur: US Open Champion 2011

Cornet // Diyas // Jankovic // Dellacqua // Pironkova // Halep // Hingis
Dulgheru // Gajdosova// Kanepi // Cetkovska // Svitolina // Niculescu // Errani

I think that would work well for all - fans, players, the WTA and the countries in the FC final.

Re: Would the WTA benefit by having the Tournament of Champions before the YEC?

The tournament of champions is the most rediculous thing the Wta has come up with. Zero publicity for it here in europe and who cares about such a title that´s not even about the best players. The wildcards like someone mentioned are just stupid.

The other complication is the points earned from the TOC, cause there could still be players trying to qualify for yec that also made it to the ToC. There would need to be a rule that those points don´t count towards qualifying for the YEC. Cause that is rather unfair.
