Sam Stosur's coach says her ranking doesn't do her justice!
Taylor rates Stosur, with titleholder Kim Clijsters, four-time winner Serena Williams and Kvitova among the four best chances at Melbourne Park, claiming her proven ability to ''win the big match against the big players'' warranted a rating above her ranking.
The Australian Open, he said, was ''a big challenge'', given her modest results in the past, but insisted: ''Sam's a better player than someone that's reached the fourth round. She'll go in there as one of the favourites and she deserves to be one of the favourites, but there's probably a group of four or five girls equal to Sam with the same chance.''
Taylor considers this grand slam-enhanced year as superior to last, despite a win-loss record of 45-23 compared with 47-19 in 2010. Stosur endured an ordinary start, and won a single title, but that represented ''obviously the absolute biggest high that a player could ever ask for in the US Open''.
"But Isha, many people believe, could have been the third Williams sister"
