I thought they had 50 people in the stands, but I stand corrected. The WTA can really pack those fans in. They might as well cancel the the tournament in the future along with the Russian tournament where no fans attend the matches.

Petko was good,
Pavl. was ok (good in rallies, bad on serve.)

Nice match-up.
We will see this match-up again and again.

..and some didn´t know how to behave during a match which led to Petkovic cursing: F***** pissheads stand up in the middle of the point.

As for the match, no need to sugarcoat it:

Fit beats fat!

- Caroline Wozniacki has never beaten a reigning world #1.
- Caroline Wozniacki has never beaten a top 5 player at a major.
- Caroline Wozniacki has not beaten a top 3 player en route to any of her 23 titles.
- Caroline Wozniacki has beaten two top 5 players en route to her 23 titles (#4 Zvonareva and #5 Schiavone)

-Her fans think she had very bad luck with her Grand Slam and Regular Tour draws.

Is that what the exchange at net was about? Missed most of the match, so would appreciate it if someone could clear that up...

Petkovic!! Win the title, please!

The race for YEC is going to be really exciting.

There were so few people there... it was horrible depressing.

Beijing and Tokyo need to be downgraded and the European indoor swing needs to be brought back. Frankly, the WTA must realize what a failure these tournaments are.

The European indoors were always well-attended.

Yes. Although the cursing came a few moments after the warning.

Re: Beijing QF: Petkovic def Pavyluchenkova 63 76

Well a bit disappointed with that one. Petko played well and she really deserves that Semi. It's just a bit sad that Nastya reached 4 big QFs this year (Madrid, RG, US Open, Beijing) and always failed to advance to the semis. I really think for her it's time to get a proper coach. She really has the shots but she needs to improve her serve. But the biggest issue is really her fitness. She won't win matches like these by hitting one awesome winner followed by 2 errors before she hits another amazing winner again. She just isn't feisty enough and that's the difference to Petko right now. I'm sure if she improves her fitness she would be able to focus point by point and not let some points go down like this.

I'm sure she would improve if she gets a proper coach, similar to Safina.

N. VAIDISOVA - T. GOLOVIN - A. BONDARENKO - A. SZAVAY
D. HANTUCHOVA - A. PAVLYUCHENKOVA - E. VESNINA - E. SVITOLINA
J. GOERGES - A. WOZNIAK - Y. WICKMAYER - E. BOUCHARD - Ka. PLISKOVA
