You're bitter & jealous as hell going from thread to thread bashing a player who both Chrissie & Navratilova concede would give them fits during their time & would soon catch with them in GS haul

I'm fairly certain that's exactly what he just said.

You don't close your eyes, even for a milli-second,
when Serena is backed into a corner and looking to bust out.

On-court & off-court achievements? incomparable, and who is Navratilova? The poll has spoken, bye!

Also Graf's forehand certainly won Steffi much more points and matches outright than Serena, a lot of people seem to forget.

Strongest yes, fastest LOL, she is not even in the league of Graf/Sanchez Vicario for crying out loud.
Probably briefly during 2002 she held that kind of on court speed, but mostly Serena looks in trouble when she is forced to move around the court.

This is one of the most laughable quotes ever, Serena who has indeed TANKED tons of lower Tier events in her carreer? Seriously?

Day in, day out, she comes way short against the legends of this sport in this category.

Here i agree, pretty much with her 2002 level Serena was simply untouchable and her fitness peak allowed oponnents single digit winners in most matches.

A lot of the time Graf used her backhand slice to set up the forehand. Of course, she hit outright winners off it but she never played a match like Oz final '07 where she was whacking winners even off of her forehand. As far as I can remember from her matches.

You're right. Nav has more hardware

She played a lot longer and tennis was not as physical

back then. But this is not about trophies

this is about who would kick whose ass on court.

And Nav can bring all those trophies to the court with her

and they won't help her return even one of Serena's serves

She would stand there and watch them go by just like all

the other players have for the last 14 years.

Re: Martina Navratilova VS Serena Williams

Serena would win. Martina has never had to face this kind of serve in her life or the power. During her time, her competators were serving at almost half the speed of Serena and even with the courts being slowed down today, Serena's power is unmatched.

Martina's Serve was in the 70s. Do you not see what Serena does to

serves under 90mph. and some over 100mph.

The Tennis channel showed a classic moonball match between Evert and

Martina at the USO. Martina did the chip and charge thing and Evert

played the baseline. After the first set they show a stat that said

Nav came in 41 times. She won 20 points. Evert won 21 and the set.

If she could only win half the points vs Chrissie, what the hell would

she do verses Serena who hits 40mph faster. I saw Errani chip and charge

Maria at the FO. She didn't do it long. When she served she hadn't

taken 2 steps towards the net before the ball was back hitting the baseline

beside her. Serena hits harder than Maria.

In 2006, a 49-year-old Martina Navratilova was hitting serves at 105 MPH with a modern racquet. How much harder do you think a 29-year-old Navratilova would serve with the same stick? The difference in power between the two would be minimal.

No but he has a point because Serena was returning for winners some of the biggest serves that players like Venus and Davenport hit. So unless if you think Martina is going to develop a game where her return of serves are like Serena's, you'd have to think the advantage is in Serena's court, even if we pretend for a second that Martina will serve consistently as well as Serena.

Plus, Serena's serve is GOAT because of placement, not speed.
