once a thread reaches 5,000 posts it's closed and a new one is opened... I think it has something to do with bandwidth or something... but someone correct me if I'm wrong.
The latest forecast indicates worsening conditions with no projected breaks in the rain through the remainder of the day and into the night. Due to this forecast, the USTA is cancelling the Tuesday, September 6 Day Session (session #17), and the Tuesday, September 6 Night Session (session #18). Play will resume tomorrow, Wednesday, September 7 at 11 a.m. ET, gates open at 10 a.m. ET, weather permitting.
Oh it's raining right now? Well my faves are out anyways. Feel sorry for the Serena fans, they'll have to wait for Williamsova to hoist this trophy even longer now.
I remember in 1999 I was at Fed Cup, they had 4 courts indoors, so a GS should have some also... But ithink one days rain won't make them play indoors...
They have indoor practice courts. So they can all practice.
And maybe it wasn't the US Open, but I'm ALMOST positive that a men's match was played indoors once. It was one of those three courts in a space a la Dubai's outer courts, and they used the center court with audience at the sides. Anyone remember what I'm talking about?
