Serena, Fish; the lone Americans to win 2011 US Open
The 13-time singles Grand Slam champion Serena Williams and World No. 8 ranked Mardy Fish are the only American top seeds to win the US Open championships this year.
The American tennis fans have little hopes, where Fish is the only American men’s player and Serena Williams is the only women’s seed to win the 2011 US Open.

The former World No. 1 Serena has won the second WTA title at 2011 Rogers Cup and also clinched the title at the 2011 Bank of the West Classic earlier this month. Serena has defeated all top seeds like Maria Sharapova, Samantha Stosur, Victoria Azarenka, Marion Bartoli and Julia Goerges.
The 29-year-old Mardy Fish, who has defeated World No. 2 Rafael Nadal in the Cincinnati Masters quarter finals in straight sets with a 6-3 and 6-4 and fell to Andy Murray in the semi finals in straight sets.
Fish also reached the Rogers Cup final, where lost to World No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the final. Fish is the only men’s American top seeds to hang in the top ten ATP Rankings and he will be threaten to the Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray at the US Open.
