Sybille Bammer Has Officially Retired

We knew it was coming, but after her 6-1, 6-1 loss to Niculescu today, she's hanging up her racquet for good.
:renaGoat:

Quote:
WIMBLEDON, England -- Austrian tennis player Sybille Bammer has retired from the sport after losing to Monica Niculescu of Romania 6-1, 6-1 Monday in the first round at Wimbledon.

The 31-year-old Bammer won two singles titles in her career and reached the quarterfinals at the 2008 U.S. Open for her best Grand Slam result.

At Wimbledon, her best result was reaching the third round in 2006.

Bammer's coach, Juergen Waber, says "Sybille Bammer played today her last match at an international tournament and she retired from professional tennis after a successful career."

Bammer has a 9-year-old daughter.

Aww, good luck Sybille. She has alot to be proud of. No doubt one of the hardest workers on tour ever, to completely transform a career post-childbirth and have her best years towards the end of her career in her late-20's. Others could learn alot from her.

Oh my God, did she star in Mad Max?

Anyway, enjoy life Sybille!

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

Serena must be relieved now.....

Good she's in the record books with the positive H2H against GOAT Serena Williams

ITF: “She is the sole author of her own misfortune.”

Best of luck in the future Sybille.

Lord knows we'll all remember her for 1. Her head-to-head with Serena and 2. Those god awful glamour shots.
