ITF Rules for Qualification for the London 2012 Olympic Tennis Event

Women Singles Events (max four players/Nation):
  • 56 Direct Acceptances, based on WTA Entry-Ranking of 6/11/12 (= after Roland Garros 2012)
  • 6 Final qualification places (ITF Places)
  • 2 Tripartite Commission Invitation places
  • Any player nominated and accepted for the singles event will automatically be eligible for selection for women’s and mixed doubles events.

Women's Doubles
  • 24 Direct Acceptances
  • 8 Final qualification places (ITF Places)
  • The ITF will select doubles teams from doubles nominations received from NOCs for direct acceptance, taking into account the recognised international singles and doubles computer rankings of 6/11/12 and the number and names of players already accepted into the singles events. A maximum of four players, two doubles teams (max six competitors/country), from any one NOC may compete in the men’s and women’s doubles events.

Mixed Doubles
  • 12 Direct Acceptances
  • 4 Final qualification places (ITF Places)
  • Mixed doubles teams will be selected from players that have been nominated for the singles and/or doubles events and will therefore already be on-site.
