Polish opinion leading newspaper: "Wozniacka is called pusher by tennis experts"

http://www.sport.pl/tenis/1,64987,95..._ofensywa.html

The newspaper says:

which means:
The Dane of Polish origin is called by many tennis experts "pusher" as she only "pushes" the balls into the other side of the courts waiting for the errors of her opponents, on her own she attack rarely. Until now such defensive tactics was enough for almost all players. The Wozniacki was only regularely beaten by Serena Williams (who has not played since July 2010) and Kim Clijsters (also injured).

Piotr Wozniacki and Sven Groenefeld try to teach to Caroline more offensive style with more net play but the results are very poor. Are the losses to Goerges the signal that they must hurry up as the tennis players learn how to play with Caroline?

It is the only way but the Danish journalist say that there is the other one. Caroline has been training hard physically for a few weeks. She wakes up at 7 AM, joggs, practises in the gym afterwards in the tennis courts. In Denmark they say those losses to Goerges are the results of fatigue. Maybe her coaches realized that Caroline will never play offensive tennis and they count that on French Open Caroline will push into the other side of the court absolutely everything.

Wonderin who those experts are Too much TF reading

Polish amazing newspaper

And Caroline is not pusher. She just hit every ball - and usually these balls land somewhere on the middle of the court....

It's not pushing.

Brad Gilbert called Wozniacki the closest player tho the ideal of his book.

It's not hard to argue than in today match Wozniacki pushed. She was completely outplayed from the baseline, everything was in Julia racket and Wozniacki had no answer, she did not step up, she did not react, she did not change anything, except in the very hand where she did a lot of UE trying to be more agressive.

Wozniacki will not last years at number one playing like this in my opinion. Either she has the talent to evolve and add great offensive shots to her arsenal (on HC his backand is already effective) or either she will stagnate. Her age , her hardwork ethic makes me hope she evolves her game enough to develop answers a being outplayed.

Every player does fitness during the tournaments.
However, if you're going to go all out on your training, you usually don't play tournaments while doing so.

It is very rarely complimentary of Radwanska actually. Recently they had an article called 1000 days without a title.

What I don't understand, however, is why ppl still find it so amusing that TF is referred to as experts. Yes, there is plenty of shit out there, but in contemporary world, the status of an expert has changed. It is no longer reserved to armchair critics, who represent institutions that have the monopoly for knowledge. In the age of Internet, fan-bases have to be considered as experts. It does change the very condition of knowledge and criticism, but it's hardly surprising or exceptionable.

There are plenty of people, like Lansdorp, who think you need aggressive weapons to win big.
Its not just posters in GM.
Until Caro wins majors, her style is going to be criticised.

What got me so in the 'discussion' is that a lot of people felt Caro wasnt top 10. That she wins only if her opponent stinks that day.

I think she is pretty good, and her results say that. But until she wins majors, people will blame her style.

I don't think she's won anything since her Eastbourne win in 2008 because Zvonareva took over Pattaya City.

Poland turning on their adopted daughter Karolina.

I don't recall any tennis expert ever calling her a pusher. Yeah her overt defensiveness has been criticised sometimes but I think people with sufficient knowledge tend to realise she is much more than a 'pusher' which is far too simplistic a term.
