Is Wozniacki evolving?

I'm just watching Woz : Bartoli match and am pleasantly surprised.
I haven't seen Woz since the Aussie Open, and now she seems to be more aggressive, aiming at the corner from 'both' wings, coming up to the net..
If this trend(if it is true) continues, it'll be really hard to win against her...

Re: Is Wozniacki evolving?

Well It's hard to know if Wozniack has become more aggressive and thus is hitting more winners, or if it's just indicative of how slow Bartoli is.

I still feel a faster player would have hit a lot of shots as passing winners IMHO, against Wozniacki.

However, Wozniacki played extremely well yesterday. So maybe it is her game evolving.

Re: Is Wozniacki evolving?

She's been playing like this for a few weeks.

But yeah, I was also surprised to see this.

People calling her a pusher obviously haven't been following her matches lately.

Is does not flow off your lips like All-Williams final, but it is just a matter of time before we get used to it.

Re: Is Wozniacki evolving?

First, she has to repeat it against bigger names and in bigger stages. It's one thing to hit winners against Bartoli in Doha. It's another to hit winners agaisnt great defensers like Serena or Kim in a Grand Slam.

But, still, she's doing what she's expected to do (improve her game and be more agressive). Good for her.

Re: Is Wozniacki evolving?

Bartoli is one of the easiest players to hit winners against on the tour. We'll see if Wozniacki continues this aggressive attitude in the slams because that's the only way she's winning one.

Re: Is Wozniacki evolving?

As soon as Bartoli starts hitting the ball hard and consistent Caro is just out.

In some points played when Bartoli was 1-3 down she outplayed Caro. Caro is not doing anything extraordinary in my honest opinion

Re: Is Wozniacki evolving?

I was more reminded of the manga Dragon Ball Z

Well yes, maybe Woz got more winners because Bartoli is the opponent, but there's no denying that Woz IS playing more aggressive.

Hope she can keep this up

Re: Is Wozniacki evolving?

I think for atleast 1 year Caroline has beaten every player with a negative winner/UE ratio if Bartoli doesn't step it up Caro's consistensy will sadly but true outlast her.

Re: Is Wozniacki evolving?

She's been evolving all along you dumbtards. You've just been too busy counting winners to see it.
