Whoes comeback was more impressive,Hingis 2006 or Heng 2010?

Hingis went to as high as world #6,but JuJu Heng was in a GS final in 2010,those comebacks were too short

Hingis for me. She was gone much longer and without much physical work (IMO), she was still able to make 2 Tier I finals her first year winning one.. won a mixed doubles slam I believe.. made YEC, recorded 50+ wins.

Some people thought she wouldnt even make top 15

B/c Henin ended on such a high note.. I think we expected more.

I always wanted to be somebody. If I made it, it's half because I was game enough to take a lot of punishment along the way and half because there were a lot of people who cared enough to help me.

It's hard to say justine's comeback was only about 6 months and she achieve AO final, 2 more titles and did make top 15 in that short period.

Where's Kim in the poll?
Anyway, tough between the other two. Justine has the slam final and a title, apart from that, not much at all. Martina had a good year. I ferl I need to go with Martina.

Well, they are different. Hingis just amazed me with the comeback, while on the other-hand all knew Henin was still good when she retired for the first time. Hingis was gone for almost 4 years, yeah didn't reach a slam final or semi but brought her week and week out consistency. She was solid, while Henin wasn't. However, she added another final to her resume and challenged the top players. I pick Martina.

Kim is still active and she apparently is better than the two in terms of COMEBACK

Re: Whoes comeback was more impressive,Hingis 2006 or Heng 2010?

Hingis, because Henin wasn't gone that long (A year and a half), she retired holding two slams titles and ranked #1, and the reasons she retired weren't physical. Think about it. People viewed her as a contender in every slam she played in her comeback. People were surprised hingis made it back to the top ten. People were surprised that Henin didn't.

Everyone expected Justine to do so well and underdelivered. Martina shocked the world and really surpassed the expectations. Martina really had much lower expectations than Justine.

Justine's slam final might be the best result between the two, but I think Hingis "impressed" the most based on expectations and consistency.

Re: Whoes comeback was more impressive,Hingis 2006 or Heng 2010?

Hingis by far. The expectations for Hingis's comeback were nowhere near as high as Henin's. Almost nobody thought Hingis would get back to the top 10 and make 3 slam quarters. She had retired 4 years ago already past her prime at 21. Henin was the dominant #1 when she retired and was away less than two years. Before Henin came back most people, not just her fans, predicted her to win the French for sure and possibly an additional slam in her first year back, and quite possibly return to #1 particularly with Serena's light schedule. And while most didnt expect her to achieve this particular goal, Henin herself stated the goal of winning Wimbledon upon her comeback too. Hingis went beyond expectations. Henin fell far short of hers.
