Recond number of games played going in a GS QF....

Has Schiavone played the most games ever going into a Slam QF:
1rd: 6-7,6-2,6-4(31 games)
2rd:6-3,5-7,9-7(37 games)
3rd: 6-0,7-6(17 games)
4rd:6-4,1-6,16-14(47 games)........Thats 132 games played in 4 matches!!

I know Jana Kandarr's RD 16 run back in the 2000 Australian Open was pretty epic(and even more considering she came through qualies),but it was too much and she was forced to reitre mid match in her 4th round. She had played 98 games in 4 matches before retiring (1-6,0-3 down) but including qualies it was 181 games!!!

Re: Recond number of games played going in a GS QF....

and I'm guessing Mary Pierce has played the least going into a QF.

1994 Roland Garros
1R 6-1 6-0
2R 6-0 6-1
3R 6-0 6-0
4R 6-1 6-1

52 games played. lost 4

My Forever Fav: Jelena Dokic

Serena Williams, Ana Ivanovic

It's not that hard to achieve this record when you played 30 games in one set alone.

Justine's 05 FO run was almost similar I think.
