Why Are There So Many Asians In The Juniors Draw?

There's I think 24 Asians in the draw. This is the most I've ever seen. Or have I just not been paying attention to the juniors in awhile.

Good Luck In 2005:
[Martina Hingis] [Justine Henin-Hardenne]
[Cara Black] [Nadia Petrova] [Eugenia Linetskaya] [Patty Schnyder]
[Svetlana Kuznetsova] [Ai Sugiyama] [Su-Wei Hsieh] [Gisela Dulko]

[Maja Matezvic] [Karolina Sprem] [Eleni Daniilidou] [Maria Kirilenko] [Jelena Jankovic]
[Tathiana Garbin] [Timea Bacsinszky] [Kaia Kanepi] [Na Li] [Vera Douchevina]

Perhaps
I don't pay that much attention too, but surely because it's the Asia Pacific GS would have helped.
Perhaps most Asian junior players can't afford to go to the other slams, so maybe we hardly see them there.

Juniors is mostly about being consistent, and Asian players are good at that. Well, except ErrorNa.

Going forward we're going to have a lot of Asians in the Top 200 and even 100, but probably very few ever in the Top 10.

Asians love money, they got wind that tennis is one of the most highest paying sports, is it any wonder there are many Asians in the draw? They see players like Wozniaki get to #1, so of course they are thinking, why not me?

And if your life were gold, how long do you think you'd stay living?

A lot of Euro/NA players withdrew. Maybe the can't afford to go, while the Asians can.

Re: Why Are There So Many Asians In The Juniors Draw?

Most of the top junior players skip the Australian Open. It's way too far to travel and a very expensive trip, considering they don't get any prize money and mostly rely on their federations for financial support. It's always been like that. So, it's understandable that most of the players in the draw are from Asia. It's nearer for them, and there are also quite a few in the junior top 100.

Re: Why Are There So Many Asians In The Juniors Draw?

It has nothing to do with Asians about to become dominate in tennis, or because they play a consistent game for juniors(which I don't even this is true...). A lot of European, and pretty much ALL American juniors have skipped the AO because its not worth the expense.
