Rate the younger players by 'establishing themselves this year'
Obviously that's a loose standard. But when veterans win all the slams, you can rate a newbie on that.
Caroline Wozniacki proved that last year was no fluke. A year from her first slams final, she's still Top Five, with a slam semi. Score A++ for proving you're not a total one-off. Next up for her. Prove you aren't a Safina/Ivanovic 'good-for-a-year-and-a-half-and-done'.
Let's not take JJ, Zvon and Sam Stosur as 'younger players'. Even these days, 25+ isn't 'younger', it's just 'not old'.
Who else among the younger players, and in what order, really put some glitter on their resume thisyear?
Proud to be an American
Not blind. Not uninformed. We are party to atrocities. But the response of the world after 9/11 is worth noting. Even our most dire enemies offered aid. We should all be so lucky.
