Such a shame she didn't make this career choice in c2001 or even 2003.
Her problem back then was that she was still getting wild cards into events on the strength of her junior dominance and her early promise. She'd lose first round in almost every tournament, and never get any match practice. It was almost suicide tennis she played, just hitting 100 unforced errors per match.
Nowadays, she's hitting only 75 ue's a match , but I have noticed just a little effort to impart topspin. The errors are still WAY too casual though. I really don't understand how a player can give points away like that, because when she's hitting the ball in, she'd quite often be on top, even against top ten players.
It's not too late for her to reach the top 50, if she continues to make adjustments and stays fit. Like I say though, it's a shame she didn't drop a level and get match tough much sooner. She'd have been number one.
