Who has a shot at becoming number one in the following weeks?

What are the different scenarios that would have to happen for there to be a number one besides Serena?

I know Caroline already has her own thread breaking down what has to happen for her to become number one,
but can you little statisticians please do it for the other 3/4 players.
I really cannot figure it out, the whole point thing is beyond me

Going all the way up to Year-End would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Who has a shot at becoming number one in the following weeks?

Not easy to say:

1 1 Williams, Serena USA 6995 14
2 2 Wozniacki, Caroline DEN 5910 24
3 3 Williams, Venus USA 5796 16
4 4 Zvonareva, Vera RUS 5550 20
5 5 Clijsters, Kim BEL 5325 13
6 6 Jankovic, Jelena SRB 5205 21

They can get about 3900 more points this year winsall they plays (mainly Vera Z.) Kim don't defend much so has a chance at No. 1 even she only plays in China Open and YEC.

But Serena defends 1450 points in YEC so it depends on if she plays there this year...

Please visit my Caroline website.

Re: Who has a shot at becoming number one in the following weeks?

From looking at the Race Rankings I can say that the players who have a shot at becoming Number 1 are:

1. Caroline Wozniacki
2. Serena Williams
3. Kim Clijsters
4. Vera Zvonareva
5. Venus Williams

6. Samantha Stosur

I think it will be decided in Diha, so it's gonna be an interesting YEC
