Look what Jen just said!!!

"I would have rather had no bye and played in the first round. I would even have preferred to play in the qualifiers."

She is DESPERATE for some indoor match practice, but can't seem to get a win.

Her ankle is still hurting, but she has no plans to withdraw from LA - so tough titties Capriati haters!!!

Mirjana Lucic : Australian Open doubles champ and back in Top 100

Jelena Jankovic : US Open finalist 2008 and World No. 1

Jennifer Capriati : 3 Grand Slams, Olympic Gold and World No.1

Rafael Nadal : 10 Grand Slams, Olympic Gold and World No.1

Well, if she doesn't improve she will be no threat in LA.

Maybe she should have gone to Bratislava.

If she keeps playing like this, then she will no longer have to worry about bye's. Sorry, mean, but I could not resist. She left the door gaping open for that one! I like Jenn. Maybe she can play in Linz and get some practice and some matches before L.A. I hope she does well there!

Jenn was never keen on playing too much indoors but her ranking forces her to represent the WTA more due to the Williams skipping it all.

In her present form she would have prefered playing GER/SUI and then go home but with AUT coming up she maybe got fed up with it all and never got into the groove she has to have to be a force here in Europe.

I´m sad for her because she lost lots of confidence by not winning anything though I definetely don´t understand why not playing doubles then to get practice ?!

Mark, by the way, her desperate condition explains a lot to me in a certain respect (you know what I mean )

When Maria Sharapova beats Venus Williams next year at Roland Garros, just remember how mean you are being right now Joy. Because I know that I will.

Gee even when the williams sisters aren't within a 1000 miles of her its still l their fault when she gets bagelled....( when they are there they kick her butt when they are not there someone else kicks her butt and its still their fault). amazing , now apparently she only makes up her schedule to please the WTA since the williamses aren't there....... funny how both venus and capriati were entered to play zurich long before anyone knew venus wouldn't be there but now apparently she just turned up cos venus was a no show.

As you may notice, it's not their fault, it's just some fans have to make everything about the Williams'.

Jenn rarely plays all that well between the US Open and OZ, at least since her resurgence. Check it out.

She said "fans" not "Williams fans"

CG, Jenn is a big girl and can't be made to play anywhere she doesn't want.

Reason is poor propaganda when opposed by the yammering, unceasing lies of shrewd and evil and self-serving men.

I can't believe Jen was beat so BADLY by Conchita. It's not like Conchita has been doing WELL this year. Jen must be really off. I hope she gets it back together for the Champs. We need some GOOD matches

1) Jennifer Doesn't Play Well on Indoor Courts
2) Jennifer hasn't had any Indoor Court warm ups, and hadn't gotten use to the court yet.
3) Jens been ill recently and hasn't played much
4) Jennifer doesn't cope well with spins, and having a oppenent like Martinez in her firs round who spins the ball all over the place and dicates points isn't going to suit Jens style.

Well Played Martinex though.

1) Jen coped very well with the defeat.
2) Postive things, Jens ankle didn't seem too bad, as she carried on playing on it.
3) Jen has a new stance for serving. Sticks her back leg out quite a way before leaning into the serve.
4) Jens ball toss has imrpoved, no as much to the right, but still had a fw dodgey ones today.
5) Looked in good shape, very fit and was moving well after her njury.

Lets see what she does about Linz.

Wow ! ´never that said to cause any link between her and the Williams and how wonderful she is to fill the gap the Williams caused or whatever.

It´s just that I think she committed to three events to play a full schedule and now realized how hard it is to cope with that and come with just no practice indoors after illness whatever and that the next thing is that she definetly is the highest one in the rankings and the burden she has is much more diffuclt than in the past when coming with no practice and playing the first days in round1 and getting the practice then. Now she´s no1, runs into a girl with more practice and a match under her belt and if not comitting to doubles or anything the matches won´t come at all.

Instead, she has to be there the first days to do promo and stuff being the headliner and that´s perhaps stuff she is not so keen on doing whatever

Ironically enough, maybe she´s even sick of the European fall, a thing that often in the past was linked with Conchita not so well trained in indoor events because she hates indoors normally.

So, well played Conchita.
