serena is so cocky

well she is, and i don't care if all these venus/serena lovers come in here and abuse me coz it is true. e.g. regarding that terrible catsuit, she said something like "venus said it is exciting and SEXY", just like me. WATEVA TO THAT! and then there is just her plane rudeness of yelling "come on" when the opponent doublefaults. HOW RUDE!

GO CHANDA!

It's such a pity when people use Chanda to hide their true nature

my point is serena is rude and is not really a good role model as the number1 player in the world. look at hingis and davenport, they never are involved with such cockiness or rude actions as yelling out 'come out' when the opponent double faults!

Well that's too bad for you.

I used to hate "come on"s but now I love it and especially when Serena does it. It's very in your face and why shouldn't she be? She's the best!

The bottomline is Serena is a nice person and a great athlete that's all that matters

Well you never saw the French Open 99 or any of Martinas early matches did you? If you call throwing your opponents beads into a crowd and jeering after a match classy, then whatever floats your boat.

lol even the true Martina fans beg that she gets cocky again

serena is funny in her own cocky way

In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
Through the desert of the truth
To the river so deep
We all end in the ocean
We all start in the streams
We're all carried along
By the river of dreams
In the middle of the night

No, Martina Hingis just preferred to label one of her colleagues (who is now a top 5 player) "half a man"!

I just love lindsay's past backhanded comments. True treasures! She is a self admitted bitch on tour. How quickly you forget that. And martinas homophobia is soooo precious! I also loved how she called the "rivalry" with anna none existent because she always won their meetings! Ooooo how lovely and gracious!

Look mother theresa is dead so maybe you should find a new holier than thou substitute because lindsay and martina are not it.

Can you give me an example? I've only ever heard realistic stuff from Lindsay. I'd love to hear her bitching about someone. Player personalities are almost as important as tennis itself

"Should I serve first, or do you want me to break you?"

Tell me jadore, woudl THAT be considered cocky? That might be the most arrogant thing ever said at the start of a tennis match.

How about, in the middle of a match, a fans calls out, "C'mon, make it interesting!" And the player yells back, "I'm trying but she's not any good".

Give me ONE negative thing Serena has ever said about another player. It was very good of Lindsay to apologize after what she said about Amelie. However, Serena never says things like that in the first place.

However, I choose to think happy thoughts. Like Venus or Serena played in the finals of all but five touraments this year that one of them actually played in. And one of those five was Sydney, where Serena got hurt. Eliminate that one, and 17 of the 21 tournaments Venus and/or Serena entered, one of them got to the final. In tournaments they both entered, they both got to the final everytime but one.

So I'll think of you jadore, as Serena pounds her hapless opposition into wheat paste this year. And I'll be thinking, "what a pity Serena isn't humble like that nice Martina Hingis was in 1997."

Not blind. Not uninformed. We are party to atrocities. But the response of the world after 9/11 is worth noting. Even our most dire enemies offered aid. We should all be so lucky.

Williams fans, please note that this poster is looking for attention. Responding to this thread is giving him/her the satisfaction he/she needs. Please, don't give them that satisfaction by expanding to 2 or 3 or 4 pages.

I have to laugh at someone saying Hingis was not cocky. "I won't play doubles with Novotna cause she's too old" "Steffi Graf won't be able to come back and cope with the fast evolving game". I just decided to add these two to the one's already posted. I do find Serena quite arrogant. I know she is a great player and deserves her number 1 spot but she doesn't have to go on about it. Venus is a better role model because she is more complimentary to her beaten opponents. And doesn't come off to me as really arrogant.

RIP Elena Baltacha, thank you for dedicating your life to a sport we all love. You'll be missed but never forgotten.

LOL, Serena is cocky because everything she says is correct!

The only reason why what she says bothers people is because they are insecure about themselves.....if not, then why would you care?

GO SERENA!
