Should There be a Indoor Slam??

The ATP and WTA play on four surfaces:

Hard Court--different types
Clay--different colors
Grass
Indoors

Australian is played on Rebound Ace, a hard court
Roland Garros is played on clay
Wimbledon is played on Grass
US Open is played on hard court

Shouldn't there be a Indoor Slam? Lindsay, Kim would be favorites, and we could get a non-Capriati, non-Williams winner

i agree that we should have an indoor grand slam. it should fill the gap between the Australian open and the French open

Go the aussies! stosur!!!
and good luck russians: dementieva, safina, kirilenko, sharapova, kuznetsova, bovina, zvonareva, dushevina.

also good luck to: azarenka, lucic, sprem, vakulenko, vaidisova, safarova, ivanovic, groenefeld, mirza, krajicek, kvitkova, larcher de brito, lisicki.

Since "basically" there are two hardcourt grandslams, maybe make the US Open indoors.

Can't make AO indoors because that would eliminate the defining obstacle of AO: The Sun.

Since September 2002:
33 singles titles
33 doubles titles
7 mixed doubles titles
7 Fed Cup titles

Debut record: 14 out of 24
Retired: Oct. 23, 2006

my thoughts are:

Have the US Open indoors. They could move into the fall, October some time. They could they move Wimbledon more into the summer, thus allowing a longer grass court season!!! The grass court season is my favorite time of the year [I just LOVE grass tennis], and it's the shortest

AO isn't a hardcourt.

"When I was four years old, we moved from England to USA, when my mother found out that I won't be KING!" -- Bob Hope--

Madame Oracene Williams could certainly teach the French & Belgian crowds on how to upgrade their respective primitive behaviours during a tennis match.

I agree that the Aus. Open needs the sun...but instead of changing the US, why not just invent a 5th slam?

BasicTennis, what is AO then?

I once read that it was made of some sort of rubber asphalt thing which really absorbed the heat from the sun.

I can't see the difference between the AO and US court.

But where? IMO the most capable of turning
its Tier I (or II) into a Slam will be Russia,
they have so many talented players to give WC to,
and there is no slam in Asia so Russia Open
can give more Asian players to participate too,
and about filling the gap b/w RO and AO,
i think Indian Wells and Miami
do a great job of that
and building an indoor court for a Grand Slam,
do you have any idea how much money it's gonna cost....
must be joking...
