FILA logo

Im confused... what gives?
Initially when James Blake for example switiched i wasnt sure if it was FILA or not.
It is.
I just noticed a shot of Kim up close from Eastbourne and she has the regular logo.

Has the company been separated down gender lines, or is there something else afoot here?

Re: FILA logo

that is Thomas Reynolds Collection by Fila

http://www.fila.com/us/eng/collections/thomas-reynolds

Alife Rivington Club (A.R.C.) is proud to introduce the Thomas Reynolds collection "a new product collaboration by Fila and James Blake" at its A.R.C. Sports store at 157 Rivington Street.

Named in honor of his father, whom Blake often refers to as a superhero, the collection is designed by Blake himself with the help of Fila's design team. "I felt I could create a line that is functional and stylish both on and off the court" says Blake.

To that end, the Thomas Reynolds collection takes clues from Fila’s heritage and Blake's signature contemporary style and brings it all to classic silhouettes in technical fabrics such as Coolmax pique or Tencel which make the line light, soft, absorbent, very strong when wet or dry, and resistant to wrinkles.

Re: FILA logo

Why has he a different surname than his father??

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

He doesn't. His late farther's full name was Thomas Reynolds Blake (Sr.), one of the first things you will see in huge red letters if you follow the link posted above.
James' full name is James Riley Blake. James has a brother named Thomas Blake (Jr.).

Thomas Blake Sr. died in July 2004 at the age of 57 because of stomach cancer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Blake#Career

While practicing with Robby Ginepri for the Masters event in Rome, he broke his neck when he slipped on the clay and collided with the net post. In July his father died as a result of stomach cancer. At the same time Blake developed shingles, which temporarily paralyzed half his face and blurred his sight.
There's a Thomas Blake Sr. Memorial Research Fund for cancer research too:

James Blake shows off latest looks from Thomas Reynolds

March 9th, 2010

Inspired by James Blake’s contemporary sports lifestyle and keen sense of style, the expanded Spring 2010 Thomas Reynolds Collection by Fila will be available at retail just as James takes the courts during the U.S. swing of the ATP World Tour calendar. Blake debuted the new collection during his first match at the Australian Open, a hot, challenging environment ideal for displaying the excellent performance qualtities of the Thomas Reynolds by Fila Collection that will carry him through the Fila-sponsored BNP Paribas Open and Sony Ericsson Open.

The expanded spring collection sticks primarily to an elegant black and white theme with hints of jester red (a nod to his alma mater, Harvard) detailing and embroidered TR Fila logos. Blake also chose to add additional pieces to the line with a particular emphasis on training. Blake’s signature long shorts in two colors (black and white) are complemented by five different 100% polyester short sleeve shirt styles, all with curved hems and drop tails --- three crews and two elegant polos.

Comfort is one of Blake’s most important design requirements, for optimal flexibility and performance on court and when training. His crews are eye catching and are functional. The solid crew (black, white and jester red) cools and vents using mesh side panels while the mesh crew is made from popcorn mesh performance fabric and offers the ultimate in moisture control with unique contrast inserts. James' favorite, the sublimated crew (black/white and Jester red/white) is a strong look on and off court. Stylish and functional, Blake’s polos offer extraordinary patterns – the horizontal striped polo in gray heather and black cut from coconut carbon jersey with popcorn mesh side panels, and the uniform box patterned jacquard polo in both black and white.

Thomas Reynolds is carried at Dick’s Sporting Goods, Sport Chalet, Tennis Warehouse, Racquet World, Tennis Express and fila.com http://shop.fila.com/us/eng/collections/thomas-reynolds and select specialty retailers around the country.
