FC: Spain protests against facing Poland on TARAFLEX - ITF agrees and suggests clay

Spanish Tennis Federation protested to ITF against facing Poland indoors on taraflex. They said that there are very few pro tournaments playing on such surface. ITF agreed and suggested Poland to play on clay as "the most natural choice for both countries". Final decision on Friday.

I though that organizers have RIGHT to choose the surface. We played on taraflex against Belgium and somehow there were no protests. Taraflex is on the official list of approved tennis surfaces by ITF so what's the problem, Spain? We all know so Spain - don't be a looser and have guts to face us on the fast indoor court.

The whole point of home court advantage is to be able to choose the surface your players would benefit from and your opponents not to and then have the benefit of that. Bad decision in my opinion by ITF especially to put it on clay.

Stupid protests from Spain but even worst the ITF decision. If it's Poland who decides the surface then they should play on the one they want.
Spain is just afraid of losing since they don't have anyone playing good enough on hard.

Hiszpanky Protestuja, that sounds Spanish Protests, no I don't think it's a joke, I'm Spanish but I don't want the Polish guys to change surface, that's not fair from the ITF, they have the right to choose the surface!

The belief that man is an irresolute creature pulled this way and that by two forces of equal strength, alternately winning and losing the battle for his soul; the conviction that human life is nothing more than an uncertain struggle between heaven and hell; the faith in two opposed entities, Satan and Christ - all this was bound to engender those internal discords in which the mind, excited by the incessant fighting, stimulated as it were by the constant promises and threats, ends up by giving in and prostitutes itself to whichever of the two combatants has been more obstinate in its pursuit. Life isn't black and white, it's gold.

If the ITF is going to be so stupid and not allow Taraflex, I hope Poland picks some kind of fast court. Fuck clay, thats suicide - and completely ridiculous for a home court "advantage".

Then Poland will make a temporary grass court in Sopot centre court.

I agree with the ITF

Spain is a traditional force in tennis unlike Poland and deserves respect

The point of home court advantage is not only the surface, obviously.
If it is true that Taraflex is not often used then they should find another szrface which is not like clay. Should not be so difficult to find.
