Urszula Radwanska to undergo a spine surgery - comeback after Wimbledon

I know you tell player's forum but it's quite rare that tennis player undergoes a spine injury.

Next week Ula will undergo an operation filling defects in the injured vertebra. Good news that one of the best surgeons in USA will do it. He operated e.g. Taylor Dent. He said that our daughter would be fully physically healthy. After the surgery she will have five weeks of rehabilitation so we decided to us Protected Ranking so Ula won't lose her points so Ula will come back near Wimbledon.
- Robert Radwański

So now let's keep fingers crossed for the surgery ans plz come back strong

Spine surgery? That doesn't sound very nice. But if everyone seems to think it should all be okay and she should be fine come Wimbledon then I guess it's not the end of the world. Let's just hope they are right.

I remember the news reports when this first came out, and they said she had the same injury as Safina. That was worrisome, this even more. I wish her well.

thats not good news for her long term tennis career...Dent was out of tennis for nearly two years after sugery. The father is more worried about her losing points than her health,if she comes back early she might ruin her career...plus she is not a top tier player so she wont be greatly missed.

This is pretty major and I think it qualifies as enough of a general interest to rate a thread here. Poor Ula. Hopefully she'll recover. She's not top tier but she's not a total hack either.

She just turned 19 before the season started! Ula has GREAT potential with a LOT of talent. And yes she will be greatly missed until she returns

Come on Ula! Come back at Wimby and show everyone wrong, make a QF

Spine surgery?
Don't think she'll be back by Wimbledon, unless it's incredibly minor.

Re: Urszula Radwanska to undergo a spine surgery - comeback after Wimbledon

Urszula was always the one of slender built and I'd imagine this would hurt her more then some of the athletic players. Could be unlikely for Wimbledon...

Re: Urszula Radwanska to undergo a spine surgery - comeback after Wimbledon

Back problems are a big deal for tennis players.
They ended Kournikova and Golovin's careers.
And hurt Safina's career badly.

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter....
Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there
Enjoy This Moment!!
HEALTH and HAPPINESS to EVERYONE
