Re: AO 2010: Top 10 Ace, Serve Speed & Percentage Leaders

AO 2010 Ace leaders:
1. I.Karlovic - 121
2. J.Tsonga - 97
3. J.Isner - 95
4. A.Roddick - 94
5. M.Cilic - 87
6. F.Gonzalez - 70
6. J.Del Potro - 70
8. A.Murray - 66
9. S.Williams - 65
10. R.Federer - 58

Serena played by "best of three" rules but still finished into TOP10

Because in ATP tennis serve is way bigger advantage number of breaks in ATP "best of five" and WTA "best of three" matches is pretty equal, so here is overall
BREAK POINTS WON AO/10 list:
1. R.Federer - 39
2. J.Henin - 36
3. A.Murray - 35
4. N.Djokovic - 34
4. N.Davydenko - 34
6. N.Li - 33
7. V.Williams - 30
7. S.Williams - 30

7. M.Cilic - 30
10. V.Azarenka - 26
10. J.Tsonga - 26

and I'm not even fan of Ana Ivanovic... just an objective observer who realize how perfect she is

AMAZING BELGRADE MIRACLE: In just three years (2008-2011) 5 different players born in same city reach world #1 in rankings and several GS titles and finals (WTA singles: Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, ATP singles: Novak Djokovic, ATP doubles: Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor... with notable performances of Bojana Jovanovski, Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki which is also all three born in Belgrade)

Re: AO 2010: Top 10 Ace, Serve Speed & Percentage Leaders

^^ ATP players can actually serve, so they don't get broken as often.

Serena making the overall TOP 10 on Aces though.

This stat only shows those who spin in their serve for a high % of first serves. The % of points won on 1st serve is a much better stat, well in terms of what this thread was geared toward anyway.

Justine @ #2 is kinda amazing..But I don't think it shows the conversion rate...I don't think it'll be pretty.

Serena winning 1st serves % is really impressive

Parmentier But she only played 1 match, vs Baltacha. Pauline has a strong first serve and Bally's one of the worst returners so I guess it's not that surprising actually.

Interesting Sanchez is so high up. Shows S&V can still be very effective.
