Who else feels sorry for Elena Dmentieva?

I do. She was playin so well in the Hopman Cup (except against Lisicki) and Sydney. She was in great form, and was just very unlucky to get Justine in the second round. She had set points in both sets too. I really feel she would have beaten anyone else in the draw except Justine, and myabe Serena. She has always had more success against Serena than Justine.

Well...someone had to draw Justine early. Just happened to be Demented.

Re: Who else feels sorry for Elena Dmentieva?

If you want to win the tournament, you have to beat the best players. Would it really make a difference if she met Justine in the quarters and lost. The only benefit to that scenario is the ranking points. As far as I know most players don't focus on playing for the ranking points. The most important thing is to win tournaments.

I am not conceited, I am just convinced

Re: Who else feels sorry for Elena Dmentieva?

I don't, because she'd find a way to lose even to Radwanska in a grand slam final anyway.

Daniela Hantuchova.

Casey Dellacqua, Jelena Jankovic, Anna-Lena Groenefeld,
Jelena Dokic, Mirjana Lucic, Sara Tomic, Sloane Stephens
Melanie Oudin, Kiki Bertens, Kaia Kanepi, Alison Riske

Re: Who else feels sorry for Elena Dmentieva?

I don't.

Elena had her opportunities to beat Justine, she just wasn't mentally tough enough.
And even if she had beaten Justine and not played Serena she still would've lost
to someone else because she doesn't have the mental toughness to win a Slam IMHO.

Re: Who else feels sorry for Elena Dmentieva?

no, because she was able to beat her, and didn't

i feel sorry that this wasn't a sf or sth like that

I am a big fan, but elena had very easy draws in slams last year, her only hard draw was the us open nd she didn't make it to the first tough player and lost to oudin

but elena will be fine, she recovered from the wimbledon sf loss and will revocer from that...
