Does Henin have to play 3 events to...

get a ranking? I thought that's the male and female general tennis rule. If so she'll be up there because she won 200 for making the Brisbane F and 1400 for making the AO F, that's 1600 points right there and would put her ranking around the high 30s in just two events back. Add to that points from her 3rd event and she'll easily be in the low 30s or high 20s in rankings already. Who else can come back from nearly 2 years off and end up being ranked near the very top again? I think it would be a be a WS, two Belgians, Hingis type (2006/2007). Most can't come back from like 2-3 years off and be that high up again.

Yes, she needs three tournament played to have a ranking... It was the same with Kim Clijsters last year.

Jelena Dokić ~ Kim Clijsters
Jelena Ostapenko ~ Simona Halep

Angelique Kerber - Mona Barthel
Petra Cetkovská - Mirjana Lučić
Jana Čepelová - Karolina Šprem - Ivana Lisjak
