If it wasn't coveted then why do players even enter it? Especially doubles specialists, they would want to win it, since it is still a Slam. Venus wouldn't have played Wimbledon Mixed 5 times if she didn't want to win it.
Wrong, it is shown on TV.
Unorthodox rules for a slam, but these are the rules for regular tour matches in doubles. The results are published though, once again not my point, my point was that there is no where to find the results on the wtatour.com or atptour.com as on their activity for players section, but hard to do when it's men and women and your site is strictly one sex.
Well they are professional, so it does not matter whether it is coveted, players will enter the competition.
Besides, it is also a way to pick up some extra money.
BTW, at one point, it was like pulling teeth to get US palyers to go to the Aussie Open.
It was not a coveted tournament. No things have changed.
So may themixed double will some day garner some interest.
That Venus decide to palyed mixed double 5 times in Wimbledon does not suprise me.
If she could enter every competion in Wimby, so deep is her connection to that place.
That said, I can't remember the last time Venus played mixed double.
