Justine did herself proud!

Olive Branch Alert!

Okay, first, most around here know, I'm not the biggest Juju fan around here. One might even say I'm something of a hater, maybe even hater-in-chief, however...,

for someone to take that amount of time off, retool her game, make the finals of the first two tournaments back and take the UNDISPUTED WORLD #1 to 3 sets is a HELL of a job. She deserves credit for that.

I truly admired her courage for sticking to her new found aggression and believe that it will pay dividends for her later in the year.

So, well done Justine. Yes, of course, I'm glad she didn't win, but I must admit she's been impressive - scarily so at times.

Of course she did. She's a great champion and has proved that regardless of ranking, she's a top 3 player.

Re: Justine did herself proud!

The way she played at the end of the 2nd is just amazing all-time great tennis. She's still got it.

I expect Justine to improve her overall level and I think Serena will need to solidify her game as well if she wants to push Justine on clay.

Thank you doublefist, both she and Serena showed class, style, and determination tonight. It's sad we couldn't have two winners.
Serena was incredibly gracious and they seemed to enjoy each others company.

Agreed. Serena can't rest on her laurels. She's gonna have to train smart over the next few months.

And yeah, Juju's form at the end of the 2nd beginning of the third had me shootin' up prayers FOR REAL!

If Juju can string together tennis like that over the course of a match, she's gonna be difficult, more so than tonight and even at Wimby. Now, Serena's level dropped during that particular time of match too, but part of it was due to the uptick in Juju's game.

She was wasn't she. Justine's ability to exhibit all facets of tenns is amazing. Aside from her serve this night, she really dominated. Serena could emulate much of Henin's game..

Beat'em down Ms Williams, beat'em down!
SERENA PRINCESS OF POWER

Victoria Duval - coming to a slam near you
Françoise Abanda definitely a future #1 --- Taylor Townsend devastation on the march
Venus and Serena ferocious grannies --- Kimiko Date Krumm great granny still doing her thing.

I don't always agree with you, but I respect you as Justine fan... well most of the time.

Justine exceeded expectations from all tennis fans, not just Justine fans.

Of course there will more fights and non-sensical fighting threads aheas, but I just want to pause and take this moment to acknowledge and congratulate Justine fans.

Re: Justine did herself proud!

Certainly Justine did play a very competitive match....all told she actually outhit Serena with her variety of shots and she also had an edge in movement....that being said...her erratic serving did her in and she has to work on that aspect of her game....the rest is just fine and its a real treat to see a player with her talent on the court once again. Congrats to both gals..let's hope we see a rematch soon!
