Which low top 10 player will be the first to reach (or surpass) Rank 8?

Each of these players have hovered around 9-12 for some time.
They have also been consistently in the top 20 within the past few years

Who will be the first to break the barrier of 9 and get into the top 8, perfect seeding for GS!???

Will any of them be able to do it, especially with the return of Kim, Justine, and Maria, all who are currently below them?

Agnieszka Radwanska
Career High 9; August 4 2008
Current 10

Marion Bartoli
Career High 9; October 22 2007
Current 11

Flavia Pennetta
Career High 10; August 17 2009
Current 12

Pennetta was horrible in the first half of last year. So was Agnieszka, though. Bartoli is defending an OZ QF.

Jankovic, Venus, and Zvonareva have areas to earn more points. I'm not sure any of these 3 will get to #8. By the time they have a chance, Sharapova and Clijsters should have rebounded enough to get back solidly into the top 10.

Aga or no one.

Daniilidou. Venus. Azarenka. Halep. Wickmayer.
Cornet. Ivanovic. Vesnina.. Vaidisova. Krajicek.
Paszek. Begu. Cirstea. Lisicki. Pavlyuchenkova.
Pironkova. Stephens. Tatishvili. McHale. Flipkens.
Grammatikopoulou ~ Papamichail ~ Sakkari
I'm obsessed with the Greek players. Deal with it.

Zvonareva has an Oz SF, Pattaya City and Indian Wells titles and Dubai QF to defend, that's 2,300 of 3,560 points in her ranking. It will be a miracle if she is still top-15 by April.

Flavia has a chance. She had a horrible 1st half to this year, so not so many points to defend.

Cirstea Kirilenko Goerges Ivanovic Cibulkova Petkovic
Paszek - Vesnina - Minella - Gajdosova - Robson - Pennetta

With Maria and Kim defending nothing.. I don't think any of them will within the next year.

The top 8 by the end of February next year will be Serena, Dinara, Caroline, Svetlana, Elena, Vika, Kim, and Maria.

My oh my how everyone quickly forgets Justine. haha

Anyways I think Pennetta has the greatest chance seeing how she has little to defend following up by the clay court season which is her best surface. I think this year will give her more confidence going into 2010. Anyways I expect that 2010 will be the most competitive tennis season we have had in quite some time.

LUCIE SAFAROVA!!

Madison Brengle!!
Tsvetana Pironkova, Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams, Lauren Davis, Petra Kvitova, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Timea Bacsinszky, Madison Keys, Kaia Kanepi, Klara Zakopalova, Agnieszka Radwanska

Elena Dementieva - Always my number 1 2012 FITD Olympic Gold Medal Champion!

Agnieszka has nothing to defend till IW QF so it's perfect moment for her to reach top 8. But it will be hard, specially with Kim and Maria coming (most likely) back to top 10.
