It's up to her. If she decides she cares about tennis/her career/her future and starts playing with passion... she will easily be able to climb back into at least the Top 20.
If she doesn't care, then we might see a retirement.
I hope she is spending her time off wisely.. but I have little expectations.

I'm not sure it will be that easy. Nicole was #7 because she had lots of power. But now, you see lots of girls who can hit like Nicole, even lower ranked (Hradecka, Kvitova, Kleybanova ...). And her movement is so bad, it is hardly top 50. She should (and I think she will) go back to ITF tournaments. Maybe there, she can rebuild her game...
just noticed right next to her int he rankings...Paszek!!! im guessing shes had a injury infested season cos she was a talent a couple of years ago, should be top 20 if 100% fit
It is a little depressing knowing how much Nicole was heralded at Roland Garros and then has slowly fizzled away. The press got carried away with the 'new blonde on Tour' routine. A warning to all young players who are suddenly news - you have to follow up. I did think that she would be top 10 for a long time and would even win a slam or two. But it just goes to show.
I didn't like her, but I do wish she would make a return. There are too many older players dominating and it seems the young champion is now a thing of the past.
She actually wanted to play a local club tournament at Rothenburg ob der Tauber in Germany but didn't qualify and they didn't give her a wildcard for the main draw.
