What a shame

Without blaming the lineswoman, nor Serena, nor the USTA officials, I'd just like to say what an unfortunate effect this incident is having really.

Except for the Belgian newspapers, I have yet to come across a professional tennis article today where the writers are praising Kim for being the only player to beat the sisters twice in the same tournament or talking about her rise up the rankings. 90% of the attention is going to the incident. I hope Kim can let her racket do the talking and rightfully reclaim the spotlight tonight and be applauded well-deservedly for her amazing achievements so far. And I hope, if she'd go on to win this thing, that she won't be disregarded the well-deserved praise for actually beating both sisters. First she'll have to beat Wozniacki though. Won't be easy.

Anyway, I hope we can all soon forget this incident (although I admit, the drama is great publicity for WTA tennis). And get our focus back to tennis.

Re: What a shame

Even when she wins the finals, the first thing the commentators will mention is how she beat Serena due to a situation. She looked most disappointed out of everyone on court.

Elena Dementieva
Li Na
Lucie Safarova
Petra Kvitova
