Matches which weren't as great the second time around...or vice versa

we've all been there....we watch a tennis match and because of the emotions of the moment, whether a GS final or 1st rd, the match seems great, high quality, etc....

but how many times have we rewatched that match and without all the emotions, cringe at the quality since the drama is gone, or vice versa??

watching my espn and cbs replay these "classic matches", last year's qf in particular, i realised that the match was at most decent until the TBs the drama at the end and the few spectacular points in between made it enjoyable at the time....but i can't honestly say now that i would have put it on the classics reel (i had never viewed it as classic, but i thought it was a really good match then)

so list any matches where you've gotten over your fave winning/losing and have a change of opinion about the actual quality of the match

Good thread.

I was so pumped about Elena's great play! the first time I watched Dementieva def. Serena @ Olympics 2008, but watching it the second time nearly put me asleep. Serena made so many errors. Elena just kinda hit deep solid balls, which was an exciting situation at the time, but just kinda blah when not on an Olympic high.

Elena Dementieva
Li Na
Lucie Safarova
Petra Kvitova
