a Serena vs McEnroe "Battle of the Sexes" match could outdraw any Grand Slam final

Judging from the number of wacko responses every time somebody starts one of these John Isner men vs. women type threads, people get way up in arms about this men vs women stuff. When people get so upset about a topic (and there are idiots on both sides of the extreme), you know that it has a potential to bring huge ratings.

A well-promoted Serena Williams vs John McEnroe match would be a gigantic, landmark event. I bet there would be people phoning in bomb threats to try to stop the match from taking place. Ten or fifteen million viewers would probably watch in the USA alone.

Yes, but we don't want Serena to literally carry the WTA in a single match...if she lost

Not this shit again. It's never going to happen. The Williamses would not allow it. If John McEnroe is STILL looking for even more attention, he can go to Times Square, take all his clothes off and stand there butt naked for 30 minutes.

Yes, he is a clown. He's such an attention whore.

It may draw more television viewers than a major final, but it wouldn't be much of a tennis match. John McEnroe wins his share of matches against men 10-15 years his junior; he'd smoke Serena.

These are not 1970s anymore. Nobody would care. And those who would care would see it as a freakshow rather than a tennis match.

Re: a Serena vs McEnroe "Battle of the Sexes" match could outdraw any Grand Slam fina

Oh God not this shit again.

For those who don't know he tried to drum up a battle of the Sexes match with the sisters at the beginning of this decade. He was behind a lawsuit against the entire Williams family. They spent 2 off seasons in court fighting it. They had no interest in participating in a battle of the Williams sisters against the McEnroe brothers. OK!!! It's not gonna happen, Mac got embarrassed and called out in the national media when her tried it before and it will only look even more pathetic now. Let him challenge Akgul Amanmaradova if he really needs to prove his manhood then.

Proud Blackjack!

Re: a Serena vs McEnroe "Battle of the Sexes" match could outdraw any Grand Slam fina

So he wants to prove that men are basically physically stronger than women , have more speed, athleticism and power and if they never stop practicisng after retirement they won't lose that much of their skill and be able to defeat a near-30 year old woman in a tennis match?

In other words , who the fuck doesn't know that already?

Now a McEnroe v Serena, Times Square punch-up is something I'd like to see , Serena would win that , no sweat
