Re: WWW USO2009 SF: Yanina Wickmayer vs [9] Caroline Wozniacki

I hope it's a really good, close match. If that happens, I won't care who wins.

I think Wozniacki will have too much experience though. Even though she has no prior experience in late rounds at GS level, she has more experience in general than Wickmayer, so I say her.

Hoping for Yanina. Neither girl has a chance in the final anyways.

Maria Kirilenko & Agnieszka Radwanska ♕
You're wrong, I'm right, I'm smart, you're dumb.

Re: WWW USO2009 SF: Yanina Wickmayer vs [9] Caroline Wozniacki

whoever makes it, it will be close to the "easiest" way to a slam final

Caro had sveta as the only quality opponent, while in wickmayers case it would be caro

close to safina melbourne run (only in recent memory, there might be easier routes)

Re: WWW USO2009 SF: Yanina Wickmayer vs [9] Caroline Wozniacki

Wickmayer has a fighters chance that is for sure. She is going to do what got her here. Hit the ball and hit it hard. She is practically playing with house money. Wozniacki on the other hand is playing extremely well tactically wise. Nerves should come into focus at some point, more so for the Wickster so I say Wozniacki 6-2, 7-5

Re: WWW USO2009 SF: Yanina Wickmayer vs [9] Caroline Wozniacki

Wozniacki strength:

*True Pusher brings it all back
*Great backhand
*Good serve
*Experience
*Will most likely have crowd at hand

Wickmayers strength:

*Has nothing to lose
*Big serve & big return --she is actually one of the best returners of the tourney
*Physical capability -- she is taller than Oudin or Wozniacki for that matter,
seems not affected by fatigue, also has only played only one hour more, Wozniacki also coming out of New Haven
*Aggressive game & sturdy under "new" GS pressure
*While no "big" wins yet, her close result against Kuznetsova recently matches that of Wozniacki

Imo, the initial momentum will prove decisive. If it goes Wickmayers way, she will win in three, otherwise Wozniacki will push it to two.
