The level pf play at the US open this year is abysmal

So far that is. I've been flicking through the matches and its just error, error, error and not just oh that missed by milimeteres this is hitting the back fence kind of errors off mid court balls.

No wonder the WTA tour is struggling who'd pay to watch that?

I've found a couple of decent matches so far. I just hope the level of play pickes up.

GOOD LUCK IN 2014 GB TENNIS GIRLS

Re: The level pf play at the US open this year is abysmal

Oh please, it's been abysmal for quite some time now. If all the players came into the open on top form (AO '07 Serena etc.) then we'd be seeing some very good performances.

It's not just Dinara, it's pretty much every female in this draw. Embarrassing really.

Who is this Rogowska woman ????

20 years ago most first and second round matches were TRULY abysmal.

Dont' worry.... by Super Saturday the level of play pickles up.

Re: The level pf play at the US open this year is abysmal

Rogowska is putting up such an inspiring performance! I'm really impressed by her, seriously you need to watch this match. She's doing pretty much everything right. Serving herself out of tough situations, going for her shots, great at clean counter punching, tactics perfect(drawing safina from side to side) and she's holding it together mentally in the tiebreak coming back down to win it 7-5.

This is the future of australian tennis for sure, this girl is SERIOUSLY GOOD. And there isn't a youngster i've said that about in a long time.

Elena, thank you for all the joy you gave me, you will always remain in my mind.

Serena/Vika played quite a good match yesterday. Venus's match was sloppy in the first set, but good quality in the last (and awesome drama!), Kim's match was good too

Voskoboeva hit 45 unforced errors in a 64 60 match...

Goerges was also everywhere but in the court.

Who's taking that spot from her?

Venus might as well get her mail forwarded to Serena's shadow. She's going to be there forever!

C'mon. You can't watch Rogowska and not be impressed. This girl is really giving it to the No.1 player in the world and doing a good job at it as well.

No one, which makes it even worse! will just add to the piling on of the ridiculousness of it. I know I know...she's earned and deserving of #1 based on the way the rankings are set up. But if people didn't find it a problem, there wouldn't be so many articles and people discussing it. Right? Yes.

It's been like this since the early '00's
