Re: A win in doubles would tie Serena with Steffi Graf in all time slams won!

She will beat Graf eventually. It would be awesome if Graf is eventually out of the Top 10 from this list.

Still in singles, Steffi >>>> Serena.

But that wasn't the point of the thread, Serena will never catch Steffi, everyone knows that.

I think with her serve and her athleticism, her power, her court mobility, I just think when she’s on, she’s the greatest player we’ve ever seen, ever. Now, whether her record is the greatest remains to be seen because she hasn’t retired yet. But I think she is really the greatest player. I have seen Martina and Steffi at their best. There are little chinks in those players’ armor, but it was a different era, where you didn’t need to be the perfect player.

Can't see anyone in this decade will put her out of top 10.

No it would just tie her, she'd have to win another somewhere else to pass Steffi.

Serena
11 Singles
8- Doubles
2- Mixed Doubles
Equals 22

So a win in doubles ties her w/Graf- unless I added wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's correct.

21?
If she wins doubles later, it'll give her 22?
Need two more slam wins only Serena will pass Steffi.

Agreed. That was another era with different circumstances. Serena's achievement is incredible and proves she is the greatest player of this era.

2+8 = 10 + 11= 21 + 1 doubles win = 22, not 23

wow.... That's some funky math I was doing-

OK, so a win in doubles puts her above Suzanne Lenglen and Chris Evert and would tie her with Pam.

I got to edit the original post- sorry bout the bad math....

Rennae Stubbs could tie Justine Henin with a win today.
