Design of a Decade: Serena Williams 1999-2009

11 slams titles and she's not finished yet.
Who would have thought after the US Open 1999, Serena would have 11.

"Everybody always said I didn't get that job because my wife is white. If you're not strong enough to look through that then you have the issue."
-Charlie Strong, assistant head coach of the Florida Gators

Something needs to change.

The younger sibling is always superior to the older one. I was just thinking about that today. Everyone I know in life, the younger one always manages to outdo the older one, even if it academic-wise, or career-wise. The younger one always seems to have something to prove, which is the case with Serena. Her career is by far better than Venus's.

Serena - 22 Grand Slam Titles -- 71 Singles Titles -- World Rank: #1 | 2016 Record - (31-4) 89%
Venus - 7 Grand Slam Titles -- 49 Singles Titles -- World Rank: #6 | 2016 Record - (21-9) 70%

Not true with Chris Evert and her sister- or John McEnroe and his brother- or Kim Clijsters and her sister...

It's not that many compared to some of the other greats.

Still good though.

Excellent observation. The younger person often fails to acheive what the older does because of high expectations.
Serena is an EXCEPTION rather than the rule.
