SERENA WILLIAMS selected as 2002 WTA Player of the Year

SERENA WILLIAMS was unanimously selected as the 2003 Williams Tennis Association Player of the Year.

I am sure that the other WTA will select SERENA for a similar honor as well.

Congratulations, SERENA WILLIAMS!!

I guess that SERENA may now even go after the WTA Tour Championships in Los Angeles this year for the final capper on this season.

But, who knows, VENUS may surprise little sis.

Noooooooo! Aside from a "few" slams and the tourney in Miami, what on earth has Serena done to warrant this award? Pray tell

Oh lawd thats my girl!!! She looks awfully cute.

Congratulations Serena. You are the best player in the world!!!!

Go Serennnaa!!1

Calabar, Serena has won practically on every surface and she's beaten down the best to win them. She's won in Miami, Scottsdale and Rome. Plus she reached the latter stages of other tournaments rarely losing before the quarters.

I'm so happy because today I found my friends, inside my head.

I'm so ugly but thats ok 'cause so are you.

Shania and Serena! My two fav babes! You gals rock. Keep it coming!! Get well Serena honey!

Sorry, everyone, but I hope that you all read the thread closely because as chairman, I personally awarded SERENA the Williams Tennis Association version of the award.

The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) has not formally awarded their title to SERENA as of yet.

However, SERENA getting this title from that organization is just about a slam dunk deal. Unless they decide to give the title to Anna instead.
