What does Venus have to do?

Watching Venus, this is what I think that Venus has to do to overcome Serena.

1. 2nd Serve! 10 df's in a 6-4, 6-3 match is absolutely ridiculous.

2. Forehand. How many UE's does she still make off that shot?
She arms it too much... She needs more spin with better use
of her wrist. Against every other player one hardly hit fhand
allows her to get a weak shot and either put the point away
at net or hit into the open court. Against Serena, this doesn't
work and she has to hit 3 or 4 fhands and it ain't cutting it.

3. Is it just me or is Venus getting skinnier? I remember the buff
Venus of 1999 and now she is down right thin. Maybe a more
buff upperbody a la lil' sis might help???

What do you all think?

No I think her physique is fine.

There was one interesting point in the finals, when Serena was serving, Venus chipped and charged. She won the point but that was the only time she did it.

Not only it works as element of surprise, she does it so well! I think when playing against Serena her game is too predictable also. She really needs to surprise Serena. Chip and charge, Serve and volley, mix it up, rather than just staying at the baseline.

Venus needs to find a way to attack the net more. She can bang from the baseline against anyone else, but Serena is too good. Serena has much stronger wrists which allow her to hit with more spin and better angles. Venus' advantage is her height and reach, so if she improves her approach shots and volleys she should be able to give her sister problems.

Venus played Serena really well imho, but her serve was bothering her because of the blister. She had Serena on the run and played some great points. If Venus's serve was on, I think she would of won that match. I saw some things different that Venus did in this match. I just think she was tired, and her serve let her down. I mean many of the key points were won by Venus giving them to Serena. Also Venus had a tough draw, and Serena was the fresher one in the final. Venus will be fine imho, I mean her serve helped her to make 3 slam finals and win countless tourneys so far this year.

Venus is a good player and she really needs to improve her forehand and service game; this is what really taking her confidence in a very low level when facing Serena. With the best returner on the other side of the net, Venus service game is certainly under pressure throughout the match.

Improve serve
Either improve forehand, or get to the net more

If she improves forhand, she can bang with Serena from the baseline, if not, she'll lose for sure and has to get to the net!
