Safina's Draw - Kinda tough, for her

This isn't a surface she's performed well on

1r Dominguez Lino - Clay courter. Insane physical mismatch.
2r Vadisova - If 'unstoppable' brings here serve, Safina's run ends here.
3r Svavay or Bondarenko - Szavay must have seen this draw and said 'what the fuck!?!? I got HER in the 2nd round!?!?'
4r Mauresmo (or Pennetta) - Safina beats Pennetta, lose to Mauresmo
QF Kuznetsova - "Vengeance", she said. "That's the law"
SF Venus - Oh c'mon
FR Serena - Maybe the US Open final. Not here.

Re: Safina's Draw - Kinda tough, for her

If Nicole can manage to wake up and bring the same form she has brought to London the last two years that got her to back-to-back quarterfinals, she will hand Safina a bad loss. Nicole is a great grass courter when playing well and should be dangerous for Safina. Instead, as a fan, I'm more worried about Nicole losing to De Los Rios.

I hope she finds some form, this kind of win could be just what she needs right now.

Too bad we won't get the chance to see her choking in a 4th GS final in a row...

i would have disagreed until she lost to tammy; pretty certain any decent grass player will have her if not a really consistent player throwing in some slices.

She should at least make it safely to the third, perhaps 4th.

Alona could be the darkhorse. She moves well and hits flat. Nicole could beat the chicken but they both move slow. I see Amelie or Alona coming thru.
