Wimbledon: The dark horses (outside top 16 seeds)

Not including sharapova

Who's the dark horse that could push into the finals?

Yanina Wickmayer- Great showing at 's-Hertogenbosch this week
Jelena Dokic- Looked the goods at french...dangerous on grass, very tough draw
Tamarine Tanaugarn- Grass giant killer, beat safina yesterday, and had good run last year
Sesil Karatantcheva- seems to always cause a huge upset
Aleksandra Wozniak- Good form, pushed wozniacki
Sam Stosur- Very dangerous if she has right mental attitude, amazing run at french 2 weeks ago
Na Li- Good at Birmingham, when playing well very tough to beat
Amelie Mauresmo- has the potential and has a reasonable draw

please mention if you think another player has the potential

Sesil Karatantcheva is not making the final

Idk if Mauresmo has the ability to step it up anymore, hope she does

Regrettably a life long fan of Ana Ivanović.

Alona Bondarenko, just a feeling.

Sesil strong on grass? And she never beat Sharapova.

Re: Wimbledon: The dark horses (outside top 16 seeds)

Razzano is in a very winnable draw to the quarters, based on her form. She has Zvonareva for a third round, who doesn't perform at her best at Wimbledon and is coming back from injury and she has a possibility of either Marion or Aleks for a 4th round opponent. I'd say given the fact that Dementieva is the scheduled quarter final opponent, I have no reason to believe that Razzano cannot make it to the semis.

Re: Wimbledon: The dark horses (outside top 16 seeds)

mmm...Stosur is a tossup. I still think she's weak mentally despite making the Semi's of the French.

Sesil...no she's not in form anymore really, her game is hit and miss.

Dokic, depends if she can stay injury free. She has always done great on the grass.

Wozniak looks like she has been having great results. Haven't seen her play though.

Mauresmo...shadow of her former self.

Tanasugarn - I expect her to make the 3rd round and play Serena. Then she'll probably lose

Na Li - again a mentally weak player.

Of that list, I pick Dokic

Good Luck Radwanska Sisters!

Sorana Cirstea - Stefanie Voegele - Michelle Larcher de Brito - Alexandra Dulgheru

Martina I will miss you!!

I'd add Rybarikova to the list. Likes the grass and won Birmingham. Saying that she's got a tough draw, even the first round against Vinci isn't easy.
