Re: Wimb R1- WWW battle of veterans: Ai Sugiyama vs Patty Schnyder [21]

I look forward to this match. It will be a shame to see either go out given their history and accomplishments. I have a feeling Ai will dig deep and win. Ai has had a lot of success at Wimbledon and is doing well in doubles which helps on grass, so I think she will have the edge. I also think that Ai is always still hungry to win and will enjoy this challenge.

If Sugiyama loses this match, she should retire. Patty wasn't even going to play Wimbledon (she changed her mind) and she can't play on grass for shit.

Hope Patty wins though.

Ai is on an 11-match losing streak. Hope she wins! Patty doesn't care about Wimbledon anyway.

Waiting for Ana Ivanovic to just retire already .
Justine Henin. Amelie Mauresmo. Francesca Schiavone.

Sugiyama is way better than Schnyder on grass - Schnyder is probably not even a top 80 player on grass.

RIP Elena Baltacha, thank you for dedicating your life to a sport we all love. You'll be missed but never forgotten.

Indeed. This is the probably the most winnable match for Sugiyama this year.

Sugiyama should win in two sets. As much as a love Patty, Sugiyama deserves to win a match!

Grass to Schnyder is what clay is to Sugiyama.

Ai is the better grass court player.

Hope she wins.
