Why does the women's final have all that pre-match hoopla?

No other Slam has a star-studded, Aretha Franklin-singing, fireworks-going-off, show before their final. The men don't even have anything today (do they?). So why do they go through all this nonsense before the women's final? Because it's prime-time? I think it's distracting and downplays the fact that it's a serious match. Not to mention a ridiculous warm-up match of McEnroe/Becker. They treat this finals like a joke. I think that's why I don't like this Slam as much as the others.
