Question Serena Williams

I am new to this forum and wta but I noticed the threads on the Williams sisters, well you cannot miss them!

The thing that bugs me about Serena is the way she celebrates after a win on the court. She seems to do the same spin around and wave thing to the crowd every time and it annoys the hell out of me. she seems to have no real emotion towards the crowd who turn out to watch her.

Her celebrations look very contrived and routine.

Ever watched Agassi?

I may not dare to show you
I might just walk away or crawl under another rock
It's so tempting

LOL, I bet you will hate a lot of player

Lindsay (at best pump her fist and shouted yes, otherwise just a stroll)

Monica (at best stroll to the net to congratulate opponent and then put up her hand to thanks the crowd)

Venus (at best stroll to the net to congratualte her opponent then do the swirling thing)

and the list is endless LOL

hi and welcome

to be fair, I think it's hard to feel emotion when you win 6:1 6:1!
Andre does the same thing always too(and I know many are annoyed by that too )

In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
Through the desert of the truth
To the river so deep
We all end in the ocean
We all start in the streams
We're all carried along
By the river of dreams

welcome to the wtaworld wolves_fan.
I agree with you. And yesterday it was so annoying seeing Serena say "hi mom" to the camera (after she beat Lindsay:-( ). I've only seen her in the us open do that but it's annoying anyway.

Acting overly suprised or elated when you win as much as Serena and Venus do could easily be interpreted as fake-- and we all know how subject to scrutiny even the smallest behaviours of the sisters can be. The routine twirls and waves are a classy way to handle their victories IMO. If Serena appears to have no real emotion towards the crowd it may be because in the US they rarely if ever support her during a match. I am impressed with Serena's ability to put aside the fact that the crowd overwhelmingly wants her to lose and celebrate for the benefit of those few fans she may have in the crowd. I was never more impressed than I was with Serena at Indian Wells- she went out on court in front of the most hostile crowd imaginable and smiled ,saluted and THANKED them for being there. Later she acknowleded that she heard the voice of a fan in the audience which gave her strength during that match.

BTW Agassi does a bow and kiss "routine" after his victories and I find it equally as charming.

Serena is great before and after a match. very entertaining lady; her emotions shows her passion for the game.

Everybody does things after they win a match, at least she acknowledges the crowd, which some players dont do. The reasons some people find for hating the sisters are so lame sometimes!

I agree. Let these players do what the heck they want! I can't believe that people can nit pick so hard to find a reason to dislike someone. Who cares if serena blows kisses or Venus twirls or agassi bows and blow kisses? Everyone does their own thing and nothing is wrong with that.

I can't believe somone would get on her case for saying hi to her mom. What is wrong with you?

And this is your first thread. I think you've started on the wrong foot.

I'm smelling an old-poster/imposter here!

I LOVE VENUS TWIRLS AFTER SHE WINS.
SHE LOOKS BEAUTIFUL & REGAL OUT THERE. I COULD SEE WHY PLAYERS & SOME FANS HATE HER,
THEY HAVE REAL VENUS ENVY.
SHE HAS SUCH GRACE & PRESENCE.
TRUELY THE QUEEN OF THE WTA.
