Re: Coverage of FO is disgusting!

well here in Britain...EVERYTHING is interrupted for Andy Murray...even his warm-up...

we are replayed his matches every single rain delay...it could be 21-all in the final set and british eurosport would STILL switch to just watch Murray warm up!

god i can't wait for that vile creature to lose...allez Tipsarevic!!!

but yea, you think it's annoying for you

It's the Aussie channel. TSN doesn't care enough about tennis to pick which matches they show, I guarantee. We pay to use the Aussie's coverage of RG, and we see what they air I think. It's TSN's fault they didn't get us the TC coverage.

Re: Coverage of FO is disgusting!

Well, last year, the Aussie channel showed everything live. So I don't know what happened this year. Annoying.

Re: Coverage of FO is disgusting!

In general, TTC and ESPN do an inadequate job of covering the slams, IMO. Their philosophy seems to be to present a package of entertainment over a 6 hour window, rather than cover the tennis. All sorts of features, interviews and debate sessions between commentators, with bits and pieces of a few different matches thrown in. Matches are shown highly edited and condensed down to what they deem the "best parts". I guess that doesn't say much about the perceived attention span of Americans. Also, amongst the women, there are only about 6 players they'd even consider showing.

I never really realized how poor their coverage was until watching my first slam with the Dish Network 6-channel Mosaic this week. Boy, is that ever a Godsend. It's the coolest thing ever. The only "downside" is having to choose which two channels to record simultaneously.

I don't agree. I think the TTC and ESPN have done an excellent job covering the event. Yeah, they tend to show the big names more often but until the TTC came along we certainly wouldn't have seen Wozniacki, Radwanska, Simon, Jankovic, Tsonga, etc. play. Plus we get uninterrupted coverage from first ball until the the last point. That doesn't even happen with the U.S. Open where there often isn't coverage from 5pm to 7pm.

The only thing I'm dissapointed about is no court choice without direct tv

yes but i'm just saying, SOMETIMES it can be very annoying with overratedurray's dominance of coverage here...

but yes, bar Monday, the coverage has been very good...

Monday was ridiculous, 1 WTA match and 5 ATP matches...i was THIS close to complaining...hate hate hate ATP!

Luck you. No RDS here... can't even find a decent stream for Safin's match.

I must have missed those then. Every match I've seen on TTC has either been interrupted by switching between courts or edited. I think they probably do a better job on the men's matches, but with the women, forget it. They like to jump around from court to court way too much for my taste.
