When's The Last Time Venus & Serena Ate A Bagel?

They showed the stat where Venus served Momo a bagel the last time they played.

When was the last set Venus or Serena lost a set 6/0?

I'd venture to guess they have been FEW & FAR between.

I think Venus was bagelled by Hingis in the Australian Open of 2000. I might be wrong, and before that Hingis bagelled Venus in the 1997 Us Open Final.

I dont know about Serena

I think Mary Joe bageled Serena once at the French Open, maybe in 99 in the third set.

Whitney Houston and her receipts:

Serena has had 2 bagel sets in her career. One was in her second professional match ever in 1997, losing to Alexia Dechaume Balleret 64 60. The other was a 3 set loss to MJ Fernandez in round 3 of the 99 French Open, when Mary Joe bageled Serena in the 3rd set.

Venus has had a few more. Her first one came against Chanda Rubin in 1997 at Amelia Island, when she lost 6-4 6-0. Then she got bageled in the first set of the US Open finals by Hingis in 1997, followed by a 1st set bagel against Davenport in Philly in 1997. Hingis got a bagel in 1998 as as did Mary Pierce. Venus also got a 2nd bagel against Davenport in the infamous bead incident. Her last one came in the 1999 San Diego finals, which Hingis won 64 60. It's been a long time since Martina had dominance over Venus lol

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Venus bageled by Arantxa at Roland Garros 2000 ? Or was it 1999 ? The score was 0-6 6-1 2-6, I think.

Smile I Knew it Had Been Awhile

Thanks you guys.

Btw - I liked Mary Jo's game. IMO - she had a sweet game and sweet strokes. She took it to Serena in Miami one year. She wasn't overpowering and didn't have a big weapon - but she was sooooo solid. I loved to watch her play.

Nite.

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh VSWilliams!

Mary Joe really knew how to play Williams sisters - I seem to remember one time at the US open when she had to retire despite leading Venus quite convincingly. Such a shame she couldn't finish the match - might have changed the outcome that year.

Yes, I remember that match. It was very early in the 2nd set after MJF had won the first set. The lines were wet and MJF went down. She just stood there and let Venus serve it out for nearly two sets, and that was it for her career.

You have to answer for Santino, Carlo.
