That is such a lame excuse. So are you telling me that the wind actually picked on Seles the whole time and never actually touches Venus, puhlease, wind is wind, it effects both player out there.

I didn't see that anyone said that. I've said the wind caused it to be a lower quality match. Monica played like shite wind or no wind and deserved to lose.

Well Monica is at her worst in the wind but thats beside the point. She didn't bring her "A" game out there. Not even close to it. In order for Monica to beat Venus, she's got to be way above her usual standards and Venus slightly below them. Even then, it's a coin toss. When Monica plays below her normal standard of tennis against Venus, expect a 6-2 6-3 score in wind, heat, sand, fire, whatever.

When Venus serves like that, everybody is going to look bad. What Vee did to one of the greatest servive returner of all time was heartless. Seles had one shot at a break, and what does Vee do? She pulls out the Howitzer...bang. match effectively over. I don't know what Vee did between yestruday to today...but if she can serve like that Saturday, she may keep her title from little sis. Keep it up Vee....

Yes with a big serve and your opponent hitting three times as many errors as winners will definitely win a few matches.

All that matters is that Monica didn't blam the wind

Venus and Serena are sitting on top of the WORLD

Not just more errors than winners, THREE times as many!!!

Chanda Rubin did not even make twice as many errors as winners, Monica had THREE times as many errors than winners. THREE times.

Chanda had 15 winners and 25 ue's. That is almost twice as many and many people feel chanda played one of her best matches. Nobody thinks that was the best that Seles has ever played but it certainly was not a bad performance and against many other players would've seem like a great performance.

Seles had 18 ue's which would've put her on a pace of about 27 for a 3 set match which is not much different than Chanda. Chanda had more winners but that is because Chanda will work her way to the net. Nobody is going to get many winners on the Williams girls trying to beat them from the baseline.

the wind is more likely to affect Venus than Monica
Monica has compact swings

Monica didn't get the match play she wanted this summer. She was injured late in the season and missed her tuneups for the Open. Worse, foot injuries mean no running. What ever Monica's weight, her cardio couldn't have been ready for this.

Venus has made the finals of the last seven tournaments she played, and won the last three.

To me, this match proves, once and for all, that Venus Williams, playing well, with her serve working, is better than Monica Seles coming back from an injury with substandard conditioning.

Thank God that's one arguement we can finally put to rest.

I Just hope Venus gets past Momo and Thinks of something to do against the S-Train, cause the way its not looking good for Vee if it comes to an all williams final
