I hope a certain paprika-loving headcase is one of those 800.

Re: 27 April - 3 May: Big week in Women's Tennis

Results? Glad you asked...

$700,000 STUTTGART, Germany (WTA)
Singles: Svetlana Kuznetsova
Doubles: Bethanie Mattek-Sands /Nadia Petrova

Kuznetsova's first WTA win in 2 years.
Mattek-Sands and Petrova also won the doubles event at the recent tournament at Charleston.

$220,000 FES, Morocco (WTA)
Singles: Anabel Medina Garrigues
Doubles: Alisa Kleybanova /Ekaterina Makarova

Garrigues is best on clay: this is a good way to start the lead-in to Roland Garros.
This is Makarova's first WTA doubles title. She lost the singles final to Garrigues, and still doesn't have a WTA singles title to her name, but surely that can't be far away.
$100,000+H CAGNES-SUR-MER, France
Women Singles : Maria-Elena CAMERIN (ITA)
Women Doubles : COIN (FRA) / PELLETIER (CAN)

Camerin is probably past her prime now, and it has been a while since she won an ITF event. Start of a comeback?

$100,000+H JOHANNESBURG, South Africa
Women Singles : Anastasija SEVASTOVA (LAT)
Women Doubles : CAVADAY (GBR) / TSURENKO (UKR)

Sevastova is a rising eighteen year old player, currently ranked 125.

$50,000 GIFU, Japan
Women Singles : Aiko NAKAMURA (JPN)
Women Doubles : FERGUSON (AUS) / NAKAMURA (JPN)

This is twenty-seven year old Aiko's first ITF win since 2004.
Yay Sophie! for the doubles win.

$50,000 CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA, USA
Women Singles :Lindsay LEE-WATERS (USA)
Women Doubles : GULLICKSON (USA) / KRIZ (AUS)

Lindsay is a veteran, good to see she's still active.

$50,000 MAKARSKA, Croatia
Women Singles : Tatjana MALEK (GER)
Women Doubles : MALEK (GER) / VORACOVA (CZE)

Malek has been getting better results lately, might start making a dent at WTA level soon.

$25,000 NAMANGAN, Uzbekistan
Women Singles : Kristina ANTONIYCHUK (UKR)
Women Doubles : KHABIBULINA (UZB) / PALKINA (KGZ)

This is the third singles ITF win of eighteen year old Kristina's career.

$25,000 GIMCHEON, Korea, Rep.
Women Singles : Jin-A LEE (KOR)
Women Doubles : CHANG (TPE) / CHEN (TPE)

This is the biggest payday of Lee's career.

$25,000 BUNDABERG, Australia
Women Singles : Anastasia RODIONOVA (RUS)
Women Doubles : ARAI (JPN) / RINER (SUI)

Rodionova's fortunes seem to have faded since a few years ago.

$25,000 BALIKPAPAN, Indonesia
Women Singles : Ayu-Fani DAMAYANTI (INA)
Women Doubles : BASUKI (INA) / TEDJAKUSUMA (INA)

Basuki (now 38 years old) and Tedjakusuma came out of quasi retirement last year and have been winning a few doubles events here and there. Basuki was once in the WTA top-20 in singles and top-10 in doubles.

$10,000 VIC, Spain
Women Singles : Beatriz GARCIA-VIDAGANY (ESP)
Women Doubles : SANCHEZ-QUINTANAR (ESP) / SANTOS-BRAVO (ESP)

Young Beatriz's second ITF singles win.

$10,000 BUENOS AIRES, Argentina
Women Singles : Mailen AUROUX (ARG)
Women Doubles : ALVES (BRA) / TIENE (BRA)

Auroux's first ITF win since her good run in 2007.

$10,000 BRESCIA, Italy
Women Singles : Irina BURYACHOK (UKR)
Women Doubles : BURYACHOK (UKR) / MEDDENS (NED)

Now 23, Buryachok is probably destined to remain at the fringes of professional tennis.

$10,000 BOURNEMOUTH, Great Britain
Women Singles : Svenja WEIDEMANN (GER)
Women Doubles : BABOS (HUN) / CORNISH (GBR)

Weidemann turned pro in 1997 but her only two ITF wins have come in the past twelve months.

Re: 27 April - 3 May: Big week in Women's Tennis

The Fes tournament had significant results for some other players, as well. I wouldn't have bet on Czink reaching the semi or Hercog making the quarterfinal.
