What's you most vivid tennis memory?

One positive, One negative whats your's mine

Positive: Venus in 2002 nailed a bhdtl, and it was so hard and flat and delicious. I mean I have yet to see someone else besides her duplicate that, and it was against seles.

Negative: USO 2007 Semi-Final Vee vs. Juju final point vee slices that serve into the deuce court, Justine hits a forehand return, and vee tries to hit an inside out bhdtl. The thing I remeber most was that GRUNT. That final grunt by venus was describe by someone on this board "so anti-climatic" it really was. It was painful almost cry like grunt.

My happen to be points that involve vee and her backhand how weird.

But whats yours?

Got a video of that backhand DTL anywhere? I'd love to see it.

Re: What's you most vivid tennis memory?

Positive - Capriati's forehand winner in the final of the 2001 French Open.

Negative - the forehand volley that Justine barely stuck her racquet out for and kept Jennifer away from a match point @ the epic 2003 U.S. Open SF.

Re: What's you most vivid tennis memory?

Positive: Venus's BHDTL to set up two match points in the Wimby final of '05. I remember that more than THE backhand.

Negative: Venus's missed smash on her TENTH set point against Serena. That match was the most depressing for me ever.

Re: What's you most vivid tennis memory?

2002 Australian Open final. Hingis had matchpoint on the ad court, and Capriati hit a return winner cross court right past her. That would be a negative.

2006 Australian Open R1. Dokic v Razzano. The forehand winner that wasn't a winner, on matchpoint. Worst memory ever!

Re: What's you most vivid tennis memory?

Positive: That topspin backhand passing shot Graf hit against Hingis at 4-6 4-5* 15-15 down after a long ass rally which ended up being the turning point in the match in the famous 99 French Open Final.

Negative: The Seles stabbing, you can't get any more negative than that on a court.

RIP Elena Baltacha, thank you for dedicating your life to a sport we all love. You'll be missed but never forgotten.

Most vivid tennis memory for me -

For me the most memorable point came last year (even after watching her for almost 8 years, Serena still surprises me )

Just awesome

Honourable mention -

At 6-4 6-7 7-6 15-30 , lindsay was 2 points away from the championship , after more than 2.30 hours of gruelling tennis, the women come up with this stunning rally of 25 strokes, and Venus ends it with a forehand winner

Justine Vs Venus at the USO 07. At one point, Venus has so much difficulty passing Justine at the end. She finally did with a forehand cross. Amaze!

Re: What's you most vivid tennis memory?

Positive : Nastya winning RG

Negative : Nastya and that awful Olympics SF. I have to admit that I cried after the match (Nastya too BTW)
The good thing is that I went on vacation in La Réunion island for 1 months the day after the SF so I didn't see the USO debacle and it was easier for me to forget!

Re: What's you most vivid tennis memory?

Positive: Lena's shriek after winning the Gold.

Negative: Lena's meltdown during The Final That Must Not Be Named.

Live: Seeing Gabby Sabitini walk on court for the first time.

Mixed: Nastya being so sweet to poor Lena after The Final That Must Not Be Named.

Re: What's you most vivid tennis memory?

I want to share a lot but I'll cut it down to just a few.

Positive: Martina's service game at 6-2, 5-2 in the final of '99 AO against Mauresmo. She was 0-40 down, but won the game with three spectacular points -- a perfect dropshot, a BH passing shot, and FH passing shot on dead run. Also, The staredown she gave Serena at the 2000 AO QF after hitting a strong crosscourt FH which Serena only managed to float long.

Negative: Martina's overhead at 5-3, 30-15 in the third set of the epic 2000 USO SF against Venus
Martina missing a backhand volley because of a bloody netcord during of her championship points against Jennifer in the 2002 AO final.

Mixed: The whole '99 RG final fiasco. That match was a guilty pleasure for me.

Steffi was in full fist-pump mode after that.
