iW: Wta final more compelling than the Atp final

Haha second time nadal/murray final has produced a snooze fest. Our girls put on a better show though I am yet to see it. Caught some of the men's final. But the scoreline tells it all-btw it was windy all around

Rena- a tennis great! 22 at striking distance.

the wind killed any possibility of a good quality match...

but the first set was exciting!

Re: iW: Wta final more compelling than the Atp final

Not really. Nadal played phenomenal tennis. Was Murray at his best? No. He could never get out of his snit once the paper flew onto the court. But it was quality shotmaking from one end of the court, with some very entertaining points. And they both handled the wind much, much, much better than the ladies.

I only saw the second set of the other final. Ana was beyond awful. If Bepa hit to her backhand, error. Bepa is my favorite top player, and she played a very smart match, but it wasn't very entertaining tennis.

The ATP trophy ceremony was also great. Rafa's speech was golden. The WTA needs a character like that.

No, not even close. They actually had somewhat interesting points. Although, I guess the women did too if you can count the comic element that their atrocious footwork and embarrassing judgmental skills added.

I only saw the first 3 games of the men's match and none of the women's (yet) and they seemed to handle the wind way better from how i hear people talking about the wind factor in Bepa's match. I don't know if that's b/c the wind died down, but the first few games at least were competitive and had some great rallies. I'll assume from the score that the quality of the men's match dropped considerably.

It was exciting, not necessarily good.
The men's final was great. Nadal kicking Murray's arrogant butt! Could it be any better?!

The womens match I heard was pretty bad because the wind was absolutely ridiculous

It was. There was about 10 odd lets because things kept blowing into the court, and a chair got blown over. Ana's dress also looked like a flag.

Re: iW: Wta final more compelling than the Atp final

Murray played a brilliant match It's just that he ran into Nadal!

To be honest the men's final was so boring The only good thing about it was Nadal winning and destroying Murray in the process. Other than that it was pure shit!

I didn't watch the women's match so I can't compare.

Re: iW: Wta final more compelling than the Atp final

LOL. Despite the scoreline, Nadal was playing pretty well considering that wind. Murray wasn't though, just couldn't get his feet going that extra half step with the wind, and his shots had nothing on them. Those slice forehands just cracked me up.
